Have you heard the phrase, “there’s an elephant in the room”? When people say that, they usually mean there’s an obvious problem or situation that they all know about but do not want to talk about. But imagine that an ACTUAL elephant is in your living room and everyone ignores it! Describe the scene.

Pick two emotions from this list:
- Fear
- Anger
- Love
- Sadness
- Joy
- Disgust
- Surprise
- Embarrassment
Now imagine these feelings as characters and write a conversation between them.

Friday Freewrite: Randomly Chosen
Choose some favorite books (maybe 5 – 10). One by one, open them to a random page, close your eyes, drop your finger on a random sentence then write it down. Once you’ve collected your sentences, cut up all the words individually and mix them up. Now, write a story with only those words and see how many of them you’re able to use.
