Friday Freewrite: Flying South
Did you know that when geese migrate south they fly in a “V” formation because it saves energy? “Each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of them, resulting in a reduction of wind resistance.” The geese also take turns being in the lead so no bird gets too tired. (Library of Congress)
Write what it might be like for geese with all sorts of different personalities (timid, bold, gruff, polite, etc.) to fly south together.
