Poetry Teatime: “Poetea”
Our first “Poetry Teatime” was [on a] Thursday, and ran for nearly 2 hours. My 11 year old son Damek, who has always loved playing with words has dubbed ours “Poetea Time” and helped me prepare scones beforehand.
Damek read all the poems from the book ‘Frankenstein Makes A Sandwich’ by Adam Rex, and all but one of my 8 year old son Kyan’s poems came from the book ‘Metamorphimals’ by Jay Palefsky. I read poems from the book ‘Red Bird’ by Mary Oliver and some from ‘Nightmares; Poems To Trouble Your Sleep’ by Jack Prelutsky.
Both boys agreed that they want to continue to do this every week, they had so much fun.
Sincerely,
Julie
