Tragic News
Today, I learned of two sudden deaths (one who is dead already, and the other who is nearing death imminently) that took my breath away. The first— 28 year old Heath Ledger (actor). His work has been interesting to me for years, but when I witnessed his sterling performance in “Brokeback Mountain,” I became a fan. At the time of the movie’s release, I chatted online with other Brokeback fans. One of these was a woman (mid-fifties) whose delightful personality and friendliness would be welcome on any bulletin board on the Net, let alone one populated by over 5000 movie fans. I learned today that her liver was riddled with cancer and she likely has hours to live. Two people I’ve never met, one remote and one nearer, yet both important to me. I’m still digesting the news and crying off and on.
Needless to say, my day has been knocked off-kilter ever since. I’ll post the next entry about love and practical action as soon as I can muster the emotional energy to finish it. Thanks for understanding.
I’m sorry to hear this. It’s amazing how our lives can be touched by people we’ve never met. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Sending you a hug – it is terribly tragic when these things happen, so sad for everyone all around…
Hang in there -

My other friend did die on Wed. morning. Thanks for your patience everyone. I’m now getting ready to post the new message.
My condolences Julie –

I missed this post yesterday and just want to acknowledge how difficult this is. I am very sorry about both of these situations.
