Very nice article, and as a fellow homeschooler I admit, it is very hard not to want to keep up with the Joneses!

(You might want to check out the true meaning of Rastafarian though...it means a bit more than 'carefree.') ;-)

Love this article!! 3 yrs. ago God called me to homeschool my 5 kids. As we started He kept telling me to do less and less. I was freaked out and have struggled with it quite a bit over the past 3 yrs. But overall, we "fly by the seat of our pants" on schooling, covering the basics in workbooks, etc. But life with my kids is so rich and we, yes we, are learning so much together that we would have never had the oppty. to learn had my kids been in school or had we been stuck at at the kitchen table every day trying to accomplish a structured curriculum.
In fact, one day, in September, as everyone was starting their first days of school we loaded up and went to the beach. Lo and behold, that day, millions of clams were washed up on shore. From the tiniest clams to large clams, we gathered them into buckets and studied them. What the heck does a clam look like?? Well, they have this tongue thing that comes out of the shell and literally digs the clam down into the sand. It was an amazing day of learning.
So, I love the Rastafarian homeschool approach. We've been doing it and love it.
